UNIQUE DESTINATION RIDES AROUND SUCHES, GEORGIA
In this episode we make our way to our final motorcycle designated campground – Two Wheels of Suches located in Suches, Georgia. As the name implies, you must be either riding or towing a motorcycle to stay there, so we fit right in and we know you will as well. This is another beautiful motorcycle campground that’s centrally located around some amazing roads to ride and explore.
The beauty about this area is not only are the roads a dream to ride, but there’s plenty of awesome destinations to get off the bike and explore.
Hungry? Check out the quaint Dutch town of Helen, Georgia. Köstlich - it's German for “delicious” and you’ll find some of the most authentic dishes and pastries this side of the Atlantic Ocean.
Anna Ruby Falls are located near the town of Helen and we highly recommend that you don’t miss them. The ride to the falls is beautiful and the falls are absolutely stunning. It’s an easy, paved ½ mile hike and so worth taking the time to see them.
Toccoa River Swinging Bridge isn’t for the faint of heart. At 270-foot, it’s the longest swinging bridge east of the Mississippi and not only does it swing, but it bounces as well – probably due to lack of any towers or any other supports in the middle. Our word of caution is that in order to get to the bridge you must first ride Fire Service Road 816, which is basically a dirt 2-track for 2.5 miles – another road we probably shouldn’t have been on with our type of motorcycles. Unless you have an ADV bike we don’t recommend EVER doing that again!! But once at the bridge we had an amazing time.
